Pronunciation: Do not forget that in verbs ending with - su (す) the sound "su" is pronounced "ss".      

 

 

鈴木さん:
スミスさんの趣味は何ですか。

スミスさん:
私の趣味は音楽を聞くことです。

鈴木さん:
そうですか。私の趣味は本を読むことです。小林さんは。

小林さん:
よく映画を見ます。

Suzuki san:
Sumisu san no shumi wa nan desu ka.

Sumisu san:
Watashi no shumi wa ongaku o kikukoto desu.

Suzuki san:
Sô desu ka. Watashi no shumi wa hon o yomukoto desu. Kobayashi san ha.

Kobayashi san:
Yoku eiga o mimasu.

 

Mr. Suzuki:
What is your favourite hobby Mr. Smith?

Mr.Smith:
My favourite hobby is listening to music.

Mr.Suzuki:
Is that so? My favourite hobby is reading books. How about you, Miss Kobayashi?

Mlle Kobayashi:
I often watch movies.

 

• The verbs: besides the verb です the verbs ending with - masu. This form corresponds to the present tense and past tense.


• The particle を (o)

 wa — o Verbe


The particle is placed before the verb; it serves as a connection between the verb and the compliment

鈴木さん読みます。
Suzuki san wa hon o yomimasu.

Mr. Suzuki reads a book.

スミスさん音楽聞きます。
Sumisu san wa ongaku o kikimasu.

Mr. Smith listens to music.

 


 

• In some instances the infinitive form is translate dits Japanese counterpart + こと (koto).
